hey all, iv been advised by a mate that my back shoes on my bmw 318, anyone have any ideas how much it will cost to replace?

thanks

40 notes top, did mine last week.

Try adjusting them first, if you want a walk through I can do one for adjusting and changing.

They shouldnt need replacing though as they should last the lifetime of the car.

Yeah, you can do it without taking the discs off, but i found this impossible.

No drama taking the discs off though.

I'd do it for you, but your so far away

If adjusting them dont work let me know and Ill tell you how to change them

But changed mine and my P brake still dont hold on my drive!!!

haha dam it how about a road trip lol, iv got a feeling they might need replacing because when i put it in for a service last month they advised me they might need replacing and they tighten them for me but still didnt help as my bm doesnt really hold either lol

None of them hold mate, so I've heard.

And I bet they just adjusted them from the cab.

If you want to travel here Ill do them lol

so if i need to tighten them in the cab do i just tighten the bolts? haha how far away are you?

yeah, under the cover on the hand brake, 2 10mm bolts.

  • 1 month later...

im pretty sure im going to have to change mine... it sounds like something has come off inside the drum. scrapes quite loudly and stops when the handbrake is applied... the handbrake effectiveness is probably about 2%  so i need to investigate further me thinks ...

Prob find shoe has shattered or the pin that holds them on has fallen out!
