my mums car has been having a few electrical problem, starter motor and fuses etc, since being fixed the car has been very underpowered. to be honest, theres no power at all. weve now been told by an auto electrician that the car has gone into "safe mode". what does this mean and how can we get it sorted without it costing an arm and a leg.

any help apreciated

Safe mode is when the car develops a fault and reduces the power as a get you home measure. Its supposed to avoid being stuck at the side of the road.

Only way to cure it is to get the underlying fault sorted. Start by getting the fault codes read by a BMW dealer or reputable independent specialist. from there you will be able to get quotes for the repairs.
