Hi all

My first post in this forum (and for some time since donating my last E39 530D to Ukraine after its mot ran out in Oct 24)

I came across this 530D by chance the other day and am a bit tempted, but first want to know what this rattle is - https://youtu.be/Vc0s3nK4-Ng?si=iRewD1L5StUla-y4 - and how easy / how much ££ to fix.

Errr how are any of us supposed to give an opinion based on that, Bonnet Closed !! You need at least Bonnet up and move over the engine to try and guess where it comes from.

I can confirm that it IS coming from the front of the engine though, if that helps?

It could be Vanos ? could be Injector clatter? could be Front pulley or tensioner ? could be Timing chain or tensioner ?

To many "could be's " to be certain I am afraid
