Hi everyone,

my BMW is due for a VANOS replacement and I’ve found two options with a big price gap:

Febi Bilstein (265.19€) - https://onlydrive.pro/parts/camshaft...bilstein-46508

Maxgear (91.29€) - https://onlydrive.pro/parts/gear-spr...axgear-54-1505

Has anyone here used either of these? How do they compare in terms of durability, fitment, and noise after installation? Is the premium for Febi Bilstein worth it, or does Maxgear hold up fine in real-world use?

Hi Tomy

Welcome to the Forum

When I rebuilt my E53 4.6is I rebuilt the Vanos system from memory the cost was around £65 for all seals and O rings which turned out to be Febi items

So are the prices you have for a rebuild kit or a refurbed Vanos ?
