BMW X5 makes rattling sound from trunk area

Our BMW 5 has recently started making rattling sound when driving. I can’t figure out what is causing this issue but it’s annoying.

funny thing is that the rattling sound stops when you get on the freeway and drive between 60 to 70 mph. 


Any ideas?

    It's just driving on regular roads. The rattling noise comes from the trunk area.  When I get on the freeway and drive 60 or 70 mph, the sound goes away.  Will probably have to take into dealership to see what's going on.  Very strange and annoying sound for a well built german car.

    You do know your German car is built in South Carolina 😅

    If nothing is loose in the Boot then I would still be looking for Loose Heat Shields or worn Suspension parts (Drop Link or Anti Roll Bar Bushes)
