Frustrating buzzing noise in overhead console when driving ... familiar to anyone and any suggestions for fixing?

Morning Glyn

Welcome to the Forum

What kind of Buzz ? Vibration ? or Electrical ?

The overhead console contains the Microphone for your Bluetooth connection feedback on the microphone could give a buzz or just loose wiring or clips behind the console could allow vibration

Good Luck with the hunt

Dave ... my apologies...thank you for the friendly welcome ... Glyn

Hi Glyn

Early 2000's there were quite a few X5's that had issues with the Bluetooth Mike it is an easy swap (really plug and play) either the Bluetooth call couldn't be heard or answered or the caller couldn't hear you

I would pop the cover off and have a look (the Mike is normally clipped into the drivers side above a grill replacement was about £15 from memory got mine from the well known Auction site 😁

Before parting with any "Hard Earned" you could try unplugging it first to see if it stops the noise. Another thought is the sun roof if you have one the motor is at the leading edge same thinking applies plull the plug see if it stops the noise
