Hi all,

I've just joined the forum as I bought myself a 2018 X1 2.0i xLine (Xdrive) car.  It has a "leather Dakota Oyster" which the wife and I like a lot.

It's a low mileage (17.5K) ex Motability car in really quite good condition apart from some very minor scuffs on the passenger door, which I think will buff out.  The dealer had quite a few Motability cars and they all seemed to have quite a bodywork touch ups and damaged plastics but this was the best of the bunch.

To some questions / advice please.

It's got a FSH but I would like to change out the oil and oil filter and put some premium oil in ASAP but as I don't have the owners manual yet is Mobil 1 ESP 5w-30 Advanced the good option?

I'm also considering putting it on a BMW Extended warranty as it has DCT gearbox, I'm not sure if it's a 7 or 8 speed box but this box is my main concern.  I assume I can put a 6 year old car on warranty with BMW?

As I'm looking to get a BMW extended warranty, I'd like to put a BMW oil filter, air filter and cabin filter in the car.  Where is a good place online to get genuine parts?  I'm sure I could use the BMW site but their site didn't seem easy to navigate for parts.

In the past I've used Ebay when buying genuine parts for other makes but would rather find a decent online specialist for BMW parts and be able to ask questions etc.

Finally it's a "mineral-grau metallic", which is for me is nice easy colour as it's requires less cleaning than some other colours.

Thanks

Takea look at www.realoem.com it is a BMW online parts list which should begood for your car/year. Put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box and it will call up your model. Then search the sections you need to to get any Part numbers for spares that way you know it will fit. Oil, most main brands that meet BMW LL04 SAE 5-30 Oil Filter, Mann are OEM suppliers

I use ECP for most bits but always search the nett for deals to keep costs sensible, don't dismiss the Dealer though they can be competitive quite often.

For Warranty,  BMW Warranty isnt cheap but check them out before making final decisions My 2003 X5 4.6is was full BMW history but as the warranty had lapsed by just over a year they declined I went with Warranty Direct who took it on happily and covered it until it was 16years old (a lot less than BMW) My E70 is with Warranty Wise best price when I brought it

Good Luck and most of all ENJOY
