Greetings,

I own a 2022 BMW 530I M-Sport, a really fun car to drive.  I recently got a service alert to change my rear brake pads.  Used YouTube to figure out how to manually disengage the electronic parking gizmo and changed out brake pads.  Car runs great with zero issues with brakes or parking brake.

Issue is with the service light that will not go out. Looked on YouTube for info and it said to hit the start/stop button three time for service mode; did this but no service mode displayed.

Two things I would ask:

1.  How do you get into service mode from within the car to extinguish/reset the light?

2.  What is the best (affordable) OBDII scanner that can be used for things such as auto release of the electronic parking gizmo, along with other basic maintenance procedures.  I currently have two OBD scanner that work great on my wife’s 2013 Mini but nor so much on mine.

Thanks for any advice any of you can give

Morning Dave

Welcome to the Forum

You were almost there 🤣 What will happen when the car has AI 🤣

Press the start button 3 times (no foot on brake) Then press and hold the left stalk button for about 15 secs to enter service mode. pressing the stalk button should scroll through the different modes.

As for the best OBD scanner I have BMW INPA/ISTA which gives Dealer level access (though BMW are trying hard to stop it's use) but there are several others these days iCarsoft, AutoLogigic, Foxwell are a few I have seen in use

Good Luck

Dave
