BMW 1 series 118i 2017 M sport fault code P0171?

Hello to all,

Just three weeks ago on my BMW 1 series 118i M sport 2017 with 47k miles, the idle rpm during to go in coast(putting gears in neutral) goes up to 1800rpm and then drops down again to 1000rpm and goes up again. This happens when the engine is warm. No rough idle on start up, not any further issues with the car. When going into neutral the engine should be going back to its normal idle rpm which should be around 800 rpm all the time.

It brings up a fault code P0171 lean mixture on bank 1?

As been reading up on this issue wondering if anybody else on this forum encountered same issue?

I have replaced the petrol fuel tank breather valve an hour ago. Will keep posted.

    Hello Dave, as nobody else did responded to this issue.

    Ordered and fitted a new petrol tank breather valve, which is situated on top of the engine .

    It's about a 20 minute job.

    It sorted the job, no issues anymore, idle stays perfect on about 850rpm.
