E64 rear tail light cluster seals replacement

Hi all, just looking at replacing the rear tail light cluster seals. Not leaking just a bit of housekeeping as I read they can go off and would prefer to act in advance.

Been looking at tips etc to do this and can find very little. Tried to remove one cluster, seems I could only see a single bolt point, which doesn't sound right but that is all I can see as it seems there is more than one anchor point. Any pointers gratefully received.?

Regards all and happy new year to you.

Anyone got a vid/pics on removing rear tail light clusters on e64. I can see one bolt but I am suspecting there is a sneaky second one. Any clues/pics gratefully received.

Also, if I had to choose a sealant material to use as a bead what is the best one? Other advice gratefully accepted but I note ensuring old sealant is removed and surfaces are cleaned..

When I replaced the seals on the E70 I brought from BMW 4 seals around £40 from memory. I also needed an inner light unit as the nearside had a split and was half full of water 😅 and still working ???

Light units look good, not wet inside either.  just a bit of algae build up on the edges hence the desire to want to clean em up and replace seals. Any clues on the light removal though as I am sure I am missing a fixing somewhere

Hi

Have you checked realoem for clues ?

With the E70 there is a single fixing on the inner boot unit then it is freed from the seal and pushed towards the boot edge/lip and it unhooks. It took a bit of pressure to get mine to release from the seal, The unit on the wing (on my E70) has 2 mounting studs again it took some pressure to release it from the old seal. I assume yours is a similar arrangement

I have since thought maybe use a heat gun to soften the seals ? Maybe
