Washer fault

Featured Replies

About 1 month ago my BMW X1 Xline 67 reg started to develop faulty in the washer. Very quickly the front, rear washer stopped working. Had it looked at by a mechanic, said it could be the pump. Another person looked at it said the pump is still working. There are no leaks, does not look like its clogged up. What could be the fault. The BMW has full service since bought from new.

Does this happen often to bmw X1? Any idea what could be wrong, is it worth trying a New pump to prove the fault.

If it’s anything line the older versions then it will be a clogged filter.

the screen wash used by bmw has an anti fungal agent in it, which some others do not, which prevents clogging.

the filters are fitted to the motors an the bottom of the reservoir. A quick dismantle and rinse with hot water should sort it.

hopefully this is the issue
