My first enquiry here.

2009 520d estate; I n December last year, I had the the timing chain replaced and asked to have the clutch changed (since it was an engine out job).

Within 1000miles an engine vibration has become apparent and some slight noise when the clutch pedal is slowly/lightly depressed.

Since the garage who carried out the original repair seem to be giving the run-around in terms of looking at the car; I have been to two different garages, who both more or less instantly diagnosed a dual-mass flywheel problem. Both have said they would have to replace the recently fitted clutch at the same time as the flywheel.

Question: it it essential to replace the new clutch after so few miles?

Morning Clive

Not had to do this job but I have read that common practice seems to be that flywheel and clutch are changed together. Did the original garage change the flywheel and clutch or just the clutch plate and pressure plate?

Bit of a bummer for you, but if you have to spend the money better to know its all new

Dave
