2013 118d CD Player not working

Hi,

I have just bought a 2013 118d M Sport.  Whenever I put a CD in the slot the screen just says “checking” and that’s it, nothing else happens!
Am I doing something wrong or is something broken?
if the latter does anyone know how to fix it or where to take it to be fixed?

Morning Rod

Welcome to the Forum

My first try would be a Head cleaner see it is just dust and dirt. If that doesn't work then if you can't take it out and repair it yourself then some specialist help is needed.

      DPF fAULT CODE

      Hi Stewart I thought the Foxwell would be capable If you have no warnings or faults showing i wouldn't be concerned as you can trigger a DPF Regeneration cycle whenever you wish (only really needed if all you are doing is lots of short journeys) my E70 I trigger around twice a year. No worry about the MOT and DPF as it will be the original, it's just the cars ECU that thinks it is new. Dave

      Hi all, I have just purchased my first BMW, a 2020 520d Touring M-Sport. I have spotted a few bits that need replacing: - Door seal at bottom of drivers door - Plastic cover for the vent just behind offside front wheel - Lower part of one of the wing mirror cases - The interior plastic covers on either side of the rear window (on the main body of the car, not the tailgate itself). What sites would you recommend for me to try and find secondhand spares please? Obviously for the wing mirror case I might need to order that from BMW as might not be as easy to get the right colour second hand. Any input greatly welcomed, Thanks James.

      DPF fAULT CODE

      Hi Dave, It has the ability to regenerate and tell the ECU that a new Dpf has been fitted. I live in Spain and the diy car scene is non existent because a car has to be totally original to pass the mot to the point that I had to produce the original documents to confirm the electric tow bar was fitted at the factory.
