Hi Forum

Happy new year to everyone

My transmission stopped working and I got a new one for a fair price. The new one however has 4 solenoids where the old one just had one. it means that the external terminal/socket on the transmission is different from the old one ( 7 pin circular socket at the transmission end). I therefore need a new electric cable that fit. Unfortunately I have not been able to find any yet. Can anyone help?

    You could try talking to ZF their base in the UK is at Crick. The question in my mind is the loom connects to the EGS Transmission controller which in turn communicates with the DME (engine management) Will the existing system recognise the box would be my concern.

    Have a look at www'realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin in the search box (your car should be in the Classic section) it will bring up your model 

    Also check www.newtis.info for wiring diagrams which may help

    Thanks for your comment. I thought the transmission control unit was getting 12 volts from the circuit and then operates independently with the transmission via the electric cable?

    But you say it is not so? I will check out the links you have provided.
