Hi Guys

 

just bought a set of side steps for my X£.

 

Obviously the drilling of the holes for fitting need to be pin point accurate. So I was expecting a template for guidance with the kit.  Disappointment!

 

Has anyone any experience of fitting these, I and my  eldest son are competent mechanics so do not expect too many problems but guidance on accurate drilling would be helpful.

Only good advice I know, is measure 37 Billion times and drill once.

Actually items not fitted, Needed to cut into car so no good, not going to spoil integrity of vehicle, live and learn!!

 

5ft 2 inch wife got to climb up, no prob for me at 6ft 2.

Hi Phil brought side steps for my X3 no drilling required fit into existing holes with all kit supplied, was going to fit myself but due to some personal issues was not able to find the time got my local garage to fit them, and glad I did they said they had a few issues as it was challenging that’s with the use of ramps etc so I would have struggled PHEW 

Only charged me £90 well pleased

Interesting!  Is yours the M Sport X3 and where did you get the Steps.  Part no etc please?

 

Certainly the ones I bought and returned would not fit my car.

Hi Phil !! No mine is the SE model I ordered them from Bragan based in Ireland.          
they are good quality and look amazing        
but the fitting instructions were dire and pictures useless, I contacted them and complained they were going look at them    
That was the final reason I got my local garage to fit them, good luck

Thanks for this, but too much hassle, sent back, wife learning mountaineering!
