Hi All,

 I have strange noise coming out when starting car on cold. The noise last around 5 seconds and is gone. Sounds like lose chain noise. I had chain probe test done in bmw and it passed so not sure what can cause this noise. It’s only when car is fully cold. Any suggestions more than welcome.

You don't tell us which engine your running or how many miles? That helps us. Short answer for BMW to kind of shrug their shoulders is not acceptable on a car of this supposed quality rattles are wrong.

I would be looking at using a different BMW Dealer or a BMW Specialist

thanks for message.

i driving 2011, 520d 184 bhp. Now it has 130000km but the noise is since o got it so around 120000. I heard this accidentally because you won’t hear it when door are closed. I bought it on warranty so they told me is nothing out of the source but I don’t believe them. I had already issues with steering and they had to replace steering racks:(

I had a local BMW Dealer my car was AUC with Warranty when I brought it from them they were terrible to deal with there were never any issues found or sorted. Took it to a different BMW Dealer 20 miles away and they sorted all sorts of niggles without me even asking.

Keep the pressure on to get it sorted, ask them if they have checked swirl flaps and wastegate bolts
