Scraping sound under centre console on hard acceleration.
Morning all, So my car started making a scraping sound under the centre console when accelerating hard, Ive found on another forum a video with the exact sound I’m experiencing. Turns out it’s due to the handbrake cable clips above the fuel tank breaking and the hand brake cables rub on the prop shaft. Has anyone got any experience with renewing these? Apparently the tank needs to be dropped. People have said that cable ties work well as a cheap alternative. I’d normally climb underneath, play and report my findings, but I’m recovering from an operation at the moment so cannot get underneath for a few weeks. 😕 -

735i - heater element water thermostat - please help
Hello all Does anyone know which is the cable that is connected to the thermostat heater element, the plug that is on the side of the thermostat housing. I was working in the car and removed the plug from the housing a few months ago and now I do not remember which of the two plugs, there are two identical plugs on flying leads close to each other, is the one that I should connect to the heater element. Many thanks -

1999 E46 328ci Alpine white
1999 E46 328ci in Alpine white Current owner since 2006 with 1 previous owner 147k mikes Automatic Service history to 100k 4 keys All booklets A4 folder with al receipts from new Full size alloy in boot CD auto changer Bad bits - needs 2 wings and a bonnet due to corrosion. Corrosion spots around the car as can be seen in the pictures. Glass on passenger mirror fell of but not broken. Air con not holding gas Bleed nipple snapped passenger side rear caliper but not leaking. Original suspension could do with being replaced. Misfiring due to being of the road 4 years! Might be bad fuel or MAF sensor as was fine before. Airbag light on but BMW did a recall so not been in to replace. Owned this car almost 20years and took it of the road 4 years ago as it was needing work every year and I needed a newer family car. I had intensions to restore but have not had the time or money over the years. Not sure if the car is worth much these days but don't want it going to scrap so open to offers. Location NE England Any questions ask away -
