E46 M3 Rear Silencer Problems

Hi,

New to the forum so forgive me if this is in the wrong place!

I've just fitted a heartbreaking £1250 worth of rear silencer and intermediate pipe to a customers E46 M3 due to the clamps corroding away and eventually breaking.

Due to the way the exhaust is made you cannot replace the clamps (clamps are put on the exhaust and then flanged over at factory).

I've taken the measurements of the new clamps prior to fitting the new exhaust to the car and was considering having modified clamps made so I can replace just the clamps rather than the rear silencer and intermediate pipe (I have many customers with the same problem on their E46 M3s, including my sons!) saving the customer bucket loads of money!

rather than having a small batch made, I was wondering if there would be any demand for such a thing on here?

Feedback would be great!

      Hi Richard Welcome to the Forum Sounds like BMW have decided you shouldn't go near any dirt or mud in your 220i Touring 🤣 That leaves little choice really. have you thought of checking Mud Flaps from either the 1 series or 3 series cars it may be they can be modified to fit ?       Can anybody help with the parts numbers for the latest 2 series Active Tourer U06 220i model mud flaps. I have tried BMW UK parts direct and they say they don't exist. Any help would be appreciated.

      Hi Stuart Welcome to the Forum Mtec with Mintex Pads always good value as are Apec, then there is Brembo discs and pads It depends if your only doing the Front or the whole car there are often some good deals to be had. Don't ignore your Dealer they often can be competitive and don't think the Auction sights are always the cheapest check the Factors as well. Use www.realoem.com to get part numbers and then use Google to find the best deal Good Luck Dave

      Centre console iPhone charger

      Morning Rob Welcome to the Forum Our son inlaw has an Induction charger in his 3 series it looks very "OEM" and seems to work well. It sits below the radio centre console where the ashtray would be I don't know if it was in the car when he got it or if he had it fitted ? I will ask him and let you know Dave
