I've got 6L of 5w40 Shell Helix Ultra (which says for petrol & diesel). Can I use it in my 318d 2010MY?.

    Steve,

    Could be a good idea to go the Castrol website which has an oil selector for vehicle type or enter registration and then you will at least get the correct grade for that particular engine.

    I checked the handbook and the oil I have; the viscosity & spec is allowed so at least it's not redundant.
