Looking to buy an E46 M Sport Cabriolet 320i automatic. 2004 year. Can someone please inform me of the RPM at 70MPH in cruising gear.

    No real reason really just curious. I'm currently driving a manual diesel with a 6 speed manual gear box. I'm not fussed over fuel consumption but I don't want to buy a car that's going to rev it's nuts off on the motorway as I do a lot of motorway miles that's all! I'm aware these cars only have a 5 speed auto gear box.

    I doubt it'll sit very high, my 320D M sport coupe doesn't sit high when doing 70. Couldn't answer for a completely different car with a different engine. Hope someone provides you the answer Harry.

    I don't know about the E46. My E92 does 3100 revs at 90mph. I doubt it will be much different on an E46 although mine is a 6 speed Steptronic Gearbox.
