Hi Guys, I have just bought my first BMW, it is a 2013 330d with business idrive/satnav. A friend has a new BMW 3 series with 2014 idrive and the connectivity with iPhone has been massively improved from my model. Does anybody know if its possible to upgrade the 2013 drive to the 2014? And also how much it would be?

    You can update the software as long as you have a USB audio input. If you go to the BMW idrive update website and enter the last 7 digits of your VIN it will give you all you need

    I've done this but it doesn't update it to the new system that is supplied in the 2014 models

    It should at least provide a compatible "patch" for the software as there is minimal time between models... Unless the 2014 software is a complete rewrite :(
