HI everyone and thankyou for having me at the BMW club I am a new member.

My question is about my 2006 m5.I have been looking at the service history as the car was advertised as full service history.I must say it looks quite complicated and I can't seem to see when exactly the services are due.I have had bmw's for about 15 years now and this is my second Motorsport series.

Any info on understanding the service procedure would be greatful thanks.

Martyb.

The car should tell you when the next service is due when you start it. Mine says 8000 miles till the next service when I start it at the moment. I assume the 5 series is the same as the 3. However I intend to get it serviced when I get it MOT'd every year anyway.

Welcome to the club Martin

the e60 m5 as with many cars now is on conditional service, so the car tells you what and when it wants it, and all can be found in the i-drive and you really need to know that info before purchase as my car has full service history so if i sold it now i could advertise as so however my i drive tells me i need a litre of oil £22 rear brake pads in 400m and front pads in 800 miles but im also aware that the discs are shot so lets say £1500-1800 and major inspection and brake fluids are scheduald for january so lets say £1500-2000 , so you really need to know ,atleast you can use info as a lever to haggle on peice if the car is the right one for you
