Hi,

I am new to the BMW world.

I have just got my 2012 3 series (F30) sport and am delighted with it.

The only thing i wish it had was a sat nav.

Can anyone enlighten me as to how easy they are to fit and what is needed.

The first one i am looking at is:

Secondly:

Any advice would be welcome.

Hi did you find out about the sat nav as I have the same problem with a 2014 318

Hi Jamie

Welcome to the fray.

If you can get the full OEM kit for your car the only snag I foresee is it then needs coding to the car (I believe) if you have diagnostic software (INPA or similar) you may be able to do it yourself. Check www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box it will bring up your model then search the Nav section to make sure you have all the parts and part numbers. Also check www.newtis.info for fitting information.

I had the Dynavin N6 in my 4.4 truly plug and play and a great bit of kit the only down side was it lost the OBC functions but I believe the new N7 platform from what I have read is fully integrated. As it is an aftermarket unit it won't need coding.

I hope this is some help

Dave
