Hi guys

Recently my i drive menu has been playing up...at start up it takes forever to load from the inital BMW loho screen...once loaded, I cant navigate through the menu, everything is frozen..none of the buttons on steering wheel work...i cant even turn the radio off manually. I even tried turning the car off and the radio stayed on. At times screen went completely off and then came on.

After driving for 5 minutes everything seems fine...until i hit navigation..."error reading dvd", appears, so i eject the bmw maps dvd and reinsert everything is fine again, no problem.

Anyone suffered with this problem?? And how do I resolve it...

I've tried disconnecting the battery and connecting it back...no luck!

    It might be worth trying an update. You need a USB stick:

    http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/navigation/bluetooth/bluetooth_software_update_vin.jsp

    Or you could try resetting it. Not sure if this works on your model though:

    i believe you push both eject buttons at the same time
    then push and release the mute button on the volume knob and that should reset it
