Quick hello to you all. Thought I'd give this forum a go as was first uk based one I found.

Anyway I've just bought myself a 2002 318se touring, not the car I set out a to buy as I was looking for a passat estate but came across this at a good price.

Car had a few issues that I've sorted, is sat on coilovers And will be getting the tensioner and vanos seal sorted this weekend. After that I plan to make a few mods in line with oem+ vw scene

Anyway what is the bmw club scene like are you all a friendly bunch who give a thumbs up and nod to other bmw drivers or do you all tend to keep yourselves to yourselves and frown upon modified bmws?

Anyway quick pic here of my new toy.

Welcome Richard.

I think a majority of people like to see some personalisation. From your photos I can see your mods are tasteful and for one, I like them. At the end of the day it is down to personal choice and I have seen some shockers in the past that would make you cry.

I think the thing about nodding to fellow owners etc depends on where you live. There are loads of BM owners around my area, most of which are company cars, so its very unlikely. However when I have seen an older style M3 or M5 in the car park I have often had a good chat with the owner as I do with most classic car and unusual car owners.

Enjoy the Beamer.

Hi Richard, and welcome. Theres no problem on here with Mods, we are the BMW Owners Club and all are welcome. Its also great to see the pictures you've posted up straight away, that doesn't happen very often, and we all LOVE PICTURES!

Enjoy the Club!
