Hello I am Tom and I live in Leicestershire in the UK.

I have a Melbourne Red M235i on order from Stratstone Derby, which should be here in Mid June and looking forward to owning my 1st BMW :)

In the mean time I am driving a Peugeot RCZ 156 GT (I know quite a jump), which of course will be part-exchanging to make way for the 2 series.

Expecting good things from when I get my hands on my car I have grown up with BMW's since I was a kid (Still remember my dads 1st BMW a E39 M5 in Silverstone Blue) and my experience with the dealers have been great so far.

looking forward to getting to know you all and fingers crossed at car meets :)

Thought to put up the specification of my BMW.

Colour: Melbourne Red Metallic

just been given an estimate date for delivery of the 9th of June definitely ahead of schedule was going to be towards the end of the June not the start. Atleast I have a date to count down to now :D

Hi Tom

Congrats on your order. The waiting is the hardest part. I had to wait 3 months to get my M135 which i got last month but it has been well worth the wait !!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is also my first new BMW and I have to say the customer service has been superb.

Best of luck with your new car when it arrives

Thank you I definitely have to agree with you on the waiting being the hardest part and glad to hear its worth the wait.

Glad to hear it will be weird getting a superb customer service my car companies I have been with have not been the greatest on that department (definitely not bad however)

Yeah I am really excited about it, the last time I was this excited about getting a new car it was the very first car I owned :)

Thanks Rob I agree with you on the colour front as well.

Will definitely post some pictures of the car once I have the keys to it

Hi Claire, yeah I won't lie I have struggled on the getting to sleep thanks to being so excited and constantly checking my phone for any news haha

well my 2 series has just been confirmed by production control (means everything is now confirmed for production) not sure if that will mean I will be get it earlier than I was going to originally, but I will find out tomorrow once my salesman gets back to me with a rough date etc :)

**if anyone knows from experience what it means when its at this stage please let me know**

Still does not mean you will get it sooner than expected,you could do but when built it will then have to wait until a delivery is going to your area,but is all good news,at least things are happening Tom

Definitely glad things are happening and do not mind whether I get it sooner or later etc I am sure it will be worth the wait.

only thing I know is that I will have to get the ball rolling on getting my private plate off my RCZ haha

Oh definitely really happy about it :)

just need to buy a calendar and cross off each day till then as you recommended now :)

this is how sad iam,i made my own before now crossed the days off like a little kid with they're advent calender lol :)

      Folding mirrors

      My X6M has folding mirrors, operated from the normal button, situated on the drivers door arm rest. They don’t fold in when I set the alarm, having read the manual, there’s a setting in the idrive to activate this function but when I scroll down the menu, this option isn’t there. Can the software be updated to add this feature, surely if the button is there and the mirrors are folding ones there must be a solution, or am I missing something completely Thanks in advance

      U06 Active Tourer Mud Flaps what are the part numbers

      Hi Richard Welcome to the Forum Sounds like BMW have decided you shouldn't go near any dirt or mud in your 220i Touring 🤣 That leaves little choice really. have you thought of checking Mud Flaps from either the 1 series or 3 series cars it may be they can be modified to fit ? If not it means the after market accessories have you Googled to see what if anything comes up Good Luck with the search Dave
