when i bought my 728i it didn't have the dvd gps computer will this make the cd multi changer not work?

No, as it is an optional extra ;)

cheers bud any idea's on what it could be? i've unpluged the cd multi changer pluged it back in can hear the cd's loading pressed the reset button but when i press the mode button it just say's no tape.

The only things I can suggest is 1- Chase the wiring from the Head-unit to the boot making sure its all connected. 2- Clean the internals of the changer. 3- Get another changer!

Hi Simon, did you do the TASKS 1 to 3 in order or just jump to 3 ?

Task 1 establishes that a connection and power is present...

Task 2 cleans the pinions and laser...

Task 3 is only a last resort if the changer is dead due to condensation (common).

I've done all the things you asked me to do sir, still no luck. The cd changer i bought on ebay dose the same as the one in the boot, you don't think it might be the head unit do you sir.

Does the HU have a CD slot? If it does its probably not the original one... Or is it? :huh:

No it's tape when you press the eject button the screen slides down to reveal the tape slot. It's the wide screen HU with buttons on ether side i don't know which model unit it is.
