Afternoon

I've looked on this forum and also elsewhere on line and can't find a definitive answer to this question.

Maybe a poster here may know.

As you can see from my sig I have an '04 33 Ci Sport - with a fair few toys fitted from new.

One of those is the folding mirror set.

I believe I have read somewhere that these can, by suitably tweaking the OBC, made to auto-fold when you remove the key from the ignition.

Local BMW dealers can't give me an answer, at least not without looking at the car. I suspect that means parting with some of me hard-earned, which I'd rather not do.

Anyone come across this?

Cheers

hello steve.

I have folding mirrors on mine the E90 model. I have had it programmed with the key fob to full open/closure windows, sunroof.

there was an option where I could have them closed with key release where it had to be activated. I didn't opt for that though.

now the program for this is ncs expert using laptop with usb cable to the obd port.

i am assuming it can be done but not sure if your model of car will have this option on the software. if it has then it can be decoded as active.. ;)

Thank you for that - looks interesting as they can/might be able to enable a lot of the items I would like.

I've contacted them so it'll be interesting to see how/cost etc, as I don't have a suitable laptop. My local garage does though.

Cheers

SteveS

I've seen people have them coded to the key fob for lock/unlock but not sure about removing keys from the ignition though. I personally haven't had it done. Does anyone know if the motors wear out from excessive use or anything?
