Hi Chaps, Ive seen a beautiful 2003 325i for sale and love it. The dilemma is that whilst the mileage is fine at 55K, its a 10year old car and thats whats stopping me buying it. I'm normally impulsive but am just a bit hesitant because its knocking on a bit.

I always prefer decent marques and as an engineer myself I can appreciate superior design as is evident on this car.

Prevoiusly I've ran SAAB HOT aeros with a few years and miles on the clocks and never regretted it.

Its a stunning car that looks about 4 years old!

Help

Happy New Year!

Paul

i own a 330d 2003.i paid 4k for mine with big (ish) miles on it....it drives like a new motor and i !Removed! love it.i would go for it if it's the right price and you love it.the e46 in my opinion is one of the nicer shape 3 series and doesnt date.they are a good sturdy motor and a pleasure to drive.that 325 will be a 6 pot with a lovely musical boooom to it.go for it mate

what price btw?

Got to be a big step-UP from a Saab (Vauxhall to be specific) matey ;)

Good buy as everyone will say on here!!!

No going back from the ///m power lol

Happy New Year Paul. You know you want it. You wouldn't be asking BMW Owners Club members the question and expecting a load of negative answers now, would you? :D

Haha that is a very good point Jeff. Buy it :).

Thanks but what I was trying to get a handle on was anything specific about a 10 year old car that should be a consideration,,,I don't change cars that often so this could be 15 years old and still required to do a job.

BTW my first 9-5 was 150K when I bought it from a main dealer with a warranty and was flawless, made in Sweden too, not to be confused with the Luton based 9-3.

Go onto the 3 Series forum on here and you will find help with buyers guide, common problems and problem solving. But I still think in your heart you want it, lol.

And by the way, in my opinion, for what its worth, 55K and 10 years is not a worry at all. A good history with all the paperwork, few owners, 12 months MOT and a good test drive should tell you all you need to know. My 328 is 2000, 178K, and cost me £300 more than I sold my old Primera GT for breaking for, and it drives like a 50K car with ONE fault, the traction Control won't switch off. Needs cosmetics, but you see that straight away.

Have to confess, it was a massive loss to the motoring industry when SAAB and Volvo shed their heritages to the likes of Ford 'n Vauxhall :(

But I digress... Buy the BMW ;)
