Thinking Of A 530D

Hello,
new to the forum, and indeed the marque.
Having owned an ex police V70 T5, and been very happy with it,
I'm thinking of replacing it with 530d ex police.
I know the pitfalls with the bodywork and interiors, that doesn't bother me,
all I'd like to know about any mechanical foibles I should look out for.

    There are none that need to be immediately brought to your attention but a short while dedicated to googling and sifting through the threads should reveal the niggles people have had in the past.

    The 530d has a fantastic engine with plenty of power. A very wise choice of car if you ask me. I'm sure many will agree.

    When inspecting a 530d, treat it like inspecting any other diesel car. Look for the usual things you would look for when inspecting a diesel car. If you do not know what these are, again there are plenty of guides online to help you with this that already exist. These guides will go into far more detail than what can be briefly wrote in a reply to your thread.

    If you have any specific questions, there is a team of people on here that will jump at answering them

    I have a 530d touring, 55 plate E61 and I love it. fantastic car to drive and gives me an average of 40mpg. excellent choice.
