Hi ,

Maybe someone had a similar problem . I had replaced the fuel pump about 3 weeks ago. Car never done this before. When waiting at the lights or just idling the RPM jumps down below 500 and goes up again. This is happening when the engine is warm. When is cold it runs like charm. On some occasions it even stalls. I had checked for vacuum leaks.Nothing.Cleaned the MAF sensor. The same. Fault code that shows is 2789 bad way connection . could be the aftermarket fuel pump? No leaks . checked already . My car is 318ci 2002 conv.

Anyone had similar problem?

sorry , its BAD WAY DETECTION

Rough idle like that could be air in the fuel-line which can be purged at the end of the fuel-rail...

Other causes could be the Idle Control Valve (ICV) which may be faulty or dirty, and maybe a build-up of crap in the intake system which is generally cured by cleaning the throttle-body...

HTH ;)

Thanks Jack, I was thinking to start cleaning the throttle body.It wasn't doing it before the fuel pump said good buy. If its air in the fuel lines, how can this be bleed ?
