I am having an intermittent problem with my remote control. sometimes it fails to work and I have to resort to using the key to open the door. it usually happens after not using the car for a while, almost as though the battery in the remote is flat or not charging properly. It is the same for both keys.

any suggestions?

How old is the main car battery? ...And does it lose charge if stood for a few days?

If it does then there is probably a poor "earth" connection, poor battery or something draining the battery (like a dodgy fan for example)... HTH
