Max Cooling Ac Not Working

Hey guys,

Hope you all are enjoying this lovely weather recently :D

When I get in my car, it's absolutely roasting inside but the max cooling AC feature no longer works. It use to work but it's been a while since I've actually needed it.

The button itself still works because it can still use the residual heat to heat the car when the engine's off.

I've read that certain conditions need to be met in order for it to work. My temperature sensor outside is broken, as it reads a constantly 50 degrees celsius but that shouldn't affect it.

I've also noticed that after long drives, the air blowing into the footwell becomes quite warm even though the air from the top vents are still blowing cool air, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Does anyone have any ideas? It'll be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Richard :)

Needs a re-gas and maybe a new heater-resistor (hedgehog)...

Check the lower temp-actuators that operate the flaps to lower vents too !

Just moved houses and the internet is finally up and running again!

Just a little update, I managed to re-gas the air con and well I think a blizzard comes out of the air con every time I hit that snowflake button. However, the max cooling still didn't work. I thought it would be a good idea to change my external temperature sensor and it actually worked afterwards!!

Which is strange because if it was actually 50 degrees celsius like mine indicated, shouldn't the max cooling feature work? I mean if it was broken like other cars which shows -40 then I could understand :S

Anyways just wanted to let everyone know that it's fixed :D

Richard :)
