  2. Hi chaps. I'm pulling my hair out with this airbag problem i'm working on for my elderly neighbour. I'm Using Snapon Verus. it's a 2004 330D estate. Fault code 03, ignition Circuit ZK2 Belt tensioner Passenger. I've replaced the pre tensioner but the fault will not clear. Anyone with any sharable knowledge regarding this? I'm looking at a faulty SRS module. Any help would be so appreciated.

  5. Bought this on my 40th, had 3 years. Got a salary sacrifice hybrid, and keeping the wife's Q3. Want it to go to someone who'll appreciate it. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202506263894450?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android-app
  6. Morning Stu If there is no rattling or just a little at cold start I would check the chain tensioner first, early X5 V8s were known for needing them changed every 20k or so. Normally looks like big bolt on the side of the timing cover. If I recall it's at the back of the engine on the side of the timing chain cover under the airbox. One of the boys on the shoot brought a cheap Mini because it had Chain rattle changed the tensioner and still driving it 2 years later My thought is it ran well for 100 miles and chains don't go without some early signs, worth a go before going for the full strip job Dave
  7. Morning Grant Welcome to the Forum Apart from removing the console and checking if it releases from behind I can offer no help Keep us updated Dave
  8. Morning David The 12g is a Browning Gold the 20g Beretta Silver Pidgeon both over and under with 30" barrels. Rifles are 308 Ruger and a Steyer Mannlicher in 243 calibre both bolt action with inter changeable scope. Plus I still have the first shotgun given to me 60+ years ago by Grandfather a 12g Greener made in San Francisco 1n 1889 great gun it just weighs almost as much as the other 4 together 🤣. Don't see many lever action rifles in the UK. The retrieving bit is simple I always have a team of 3 or 4 dogs with me (1 if stalking) When in Business I had many many nice cars mainly 2 wheel drive and totally useless off road. I kept an old 110 Land Rover for shooting. When I retired I decided to get a car that would do both jobs, Mercedes ML at that time I thought was ugly Porsche Cayenne looked half finished Range Rover were unreliable so I settled on a BMW X5 E53 4.4 which was replaced with an E53 4.6is (still have it) and the current is an E70 3.0d As an engineer I have a need to know how it works so always maintained my own cars, it is another hobby. If I sit down my wife worries I am bored so has a LIST !!😁 So I adopt the old "a moving target" adage and keep busy 😅 The cars her Subaru my BMW + the friends and family, training the dogs, Golf and shooting keep me out of trouble and away from the list Enjoy your Beemer Dave

  10. Hi John I’ve recently posted a similar problem with my 2015 F31 320d M Sport. Have you resolved the issue on your car?, if so could you please advise what the remedy was. Thanks in anticipation Rob
  11. Hello group, I have a 2021 BMW X3 with only 22k miles. It looks like I may need to replace the brake pads soon. There are only a few millimeters left. I don't know why those pads are going so fast. On my previous BMW, the brakes were like new after 40k, and my driving style did not change. My only guess is that manufacturing quality went down. In any case, I have a few questions: What is the best replacement option for brake pads in my car? Semi-metallic or ceramic? Which brand? Do I need to replace rotors, or is refacing acceptable? If I take the car to the BMW dealership, they will stand for the OEM pads and new rotors. Thank you in advance, Alex
  12. Would he happen to also know what I inadvertently pressed to make that arrowhead appear yesterday? It was never there before. And, how more importantly, how do I make it go away? I have never used Sport mode, neither has my husband. I have never used the paddles on the steering wheel either, at least not intentionally! Thanks again for your reply! ~Susan
  13. Thanks for your reply Dave, most appreciated and I’ll try and check as you suggest. If anyone else has had a similar problem it would be helpful to hear the outcome and if the issue was resolved Rob
  14. Morning Michael Welcome to the Forum Make sure you have a good Torx Drive set both male and female plus I don't know what's included in the Halfords advanced kit so check Good Luck you seem to have it covered Dave
  15. Morning Gavin Welcome to the Forum Take a look at www.realoem.com the small exploded drawings should help. Put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box it will show your model then look in the engine section. Never worked on a 218 but Vanos is normally top front of each camshaft I think the actuator has to be removed to get access to the valve/solenoid. Not sure if you have them on inlet and exhaust on your engine but Realoem will confirm that Dave

  18. Morning Paul Welcome to the Forum That's the main reason that I changed to an Android based system a couple of years ago one of my sons did the same last month I now have a system that connects to my home wifi whenever parked outside the house and automatically updates all apps. Sat Nav is now Tom Tom but also have Here we Go and Google maps on the system, as well as Android Auto, Car Play, Spotify the list is long. Cost for my son was £250 mine 2 years ago was less than £200. They look OEM plus we both still have access to all the cars radio, CD, and the cars maintenance settings win win Dave
  19. Cheers Steve, no chance of buying new, though had the fortune of having my fingers burnt once before.
  20. Mine is a 2002 model. I picked it up for £2400. they are rare, when I was looking I only found 2 manuals for sale and only one was petrol. I would expect the value to be around the 2-3k mark.
  21. Good Morning, I currently have an 05 plate e46 320ci m-sport that I am looking to sell however unsure on the price. Wondered if anyone could help. Full service and MOT history in mineral grey colour with unmarked grey rims, it is in very good condition for a 20 year old car. I have had it for 4 years from 52k miles, currently has around the 84k miles mark. it has grey leather seats, electric fold in mirrors, upgraded custom sound system with 10inch sub fitted into boot, full spare wheel in boot, original tool kit and first aid kit. Drives lovely with no lights on the dashboard and has been very well looked after. I have had no problems with the car since owning it and I am sad to part ways with it. Any help would be appreciated and I am happy to provide pictures of the car.
  22. Morning Brian Welcome to the Forum First I would get the replacement that will be let you see how it is fixed. Next removing the old one, I changed both mine a couple of years back due to fading. The boot one had some sort of glue/mastic under it. I used my heat gun on a low setting to soften everything up then masked around it to prevent scratches and prised it off with a plastic trim remover took quite a bit of levering Hope this is useful Dave

  24. Morning Chris Welcome to the Forum It could be a number of things you need a Diagnostic Scan to tell you more It could be anything from a Gear selector switch to a Service on the box needed and several things in between Dave
  25. Morning Cornel Most Main Dealers are North of £200 per hour Google the register of BMW Specialists they are normally ex BMW Tech's and will have all the Kit and Knowledge you need more important their Hourly rates are around half the Main Dealer's same applies to ZF Trans Specialist's I have always serviced my own cars (hobby) and my wife thinks it's safer than me helping in the garden 😁 I did my X5 earlier this year I brought genuine a ZF service kit £190 OEM Transfer case fluid £70 front and rear diffs £80 total £340 The transfer case on an E70 is a Faff as BMW decided to hide the drain plug behind the Transfer box support cradle but once I worked it out it went well, whole job took me a morning with coffee and biscuits Dave
  26. Morning Dan Welcome to the Forum As it isn't a BMW Part I am not sure there will be help here, unless a member on here has come across the same issue Maybe Google to see if there is a Harmon Kardon Forum to see if they have more information Good Luck Dave
  27. Following further conversation with the owner, he has corrected me to say its a September 1995 model. 5.4ltr V12 SWB. Apparently there were very limited numbers of this model in right hand drive. Any interest of advice please let me know.
  28. Morning Luis Welcome to the Forum You can check by using a BMW Vin decoder website put in your Vin number and it will bring up the build sheet for your car. If the car is Bluetooth equipped you will find either SA633 or SA644 codes, if they are there then the car is Bluetooth equipped. Two things will stop it working (1) The Bluetooth memory is full 4 phones I think. (2) the Telematics unit in the Boot/Trunk left side is not working If your not seeing a Bluetooth function then it will be the Telematics unit and its antenna. First check the boot area left side if the telematic unit is there unplug it and get the part number from it then use Google to source a replacement If your car was not Bluetooth equipped check the left boot are for a connector taped up in the loom in that area if it is there you may just need the parts. Then if you want it to be OEM use www.realoem.com to get the part numbers and source the equipment, it should be pretty much plug and play. The alternative is an after market Bluetooth kit Dave
  29. Morning Matija Part of the Comfort access system then 😁 If you try www.realoem.com and put in the cars Vin (last 7 digits) it will bring up your model then reach the sections for the correct part and part number, once you have the part double click the part number and you will get a list of any alternatives and models they were used on Great find Dave
  30. Hi Dave, Thanks for the reply and the welcome. Car has only done 33k miles with full service history - never any issues. The tuner in question will be DMS automotive, I believe they are established and have done various things with Carwow and Top Gear. Slightly on the higher end price wise but believe it would be stupid to cheap out on something like this. I also don't plan on being a boy racer, I just want the extra power for the odd over take and to prevent the delays from the automatic gearbox. Thanks again for the help! Seb
