  1. Didn't know that ! have you got any pics
  2. I thought the E30 318is was only ever made in 2 door coupe (or saloon), I have one, and I have read much about them, and all say that it onkly ever came in 2 door coupe ! ie, no 4 door, no convertible and no touring's ! Do you have any pics ?
  3. What benefits / difference would I gain by changing my 14" BBS to 15"'s on my E30 318is. also what tyres, Toyo Proxes, Uniroyal Rainsport Rainexpert 3 or what ?
  4. Hi, I'm in Musselburgh - East Lothian
  5. You can run a diesel on just cooking oil - even uses stuff, (filtered ofcourse, years ago some of my chef mates used to put it their diesel cars, get it for nout at wherever they worked :)
  6. Hi daz, thanks, more or less what I thought, especially on the oil company V's supermarket thing
  7. I have an E30 318is, I just use regular petrol, normally unleaded from Tesco ! is there any difference from supermarket fuels to the oil company fuels ? I know the likes of Shell Ultra and Tesco Momemtum etc have an additive for cleaner running, and, or - ever so slightly improved fuel economy, and maybe even an ever so slight increas in power, but surely standard unleaded is much the same wherever you go ! ? after all, all tankers go to the same refinery. Secondly, will my 318is run better on a premium petrol, eg, a slight improvement in power and overall running ?
  8. Thanks for the usefull replies - Dazh and dabsy, strangely enough since I posted this last week the lock - or the drivers side anyway, has worked fine ! but I shall remove the door cards maybe next w/e, I have some silicon spray anyway, and I'll have a look at the push rods.
  9. I have JAG196N on my XJS which is a 1996 Celebration :) - I'm not really a fan of plates that say what the car is, but it came with the car when I bought it - it suits the car tho, as it would be a 96 N reg, prefix, if it had the proper age related plate on, my wife and daughter (+ a couple of others) say it looks like JAG IAN ?? but I cant really see it ! (my name is Ian - btw) I am looking to get something for my E30, not sure what tho ? whether to get my + wife & daughters initials, or something quirky and I'd prefer an ageless one too, or maybe another suffix plate ? ! Watch this space
  10. What were you called before ?? :D lol (sorry - couldn't resist that)
  11. Hope I'm in the right section with this ? I have an E30 318is, only had it a few months, and only really just started using it regularly a few weeks ago :D, anyhow, yesterday when I tried to unlock it, manually with the key, (no remote locking on these - not mine anyway) the key will only turn to straight up / down position and wont turn/click further to the right, to unlock ? ! tried the passenger side but that hardly turns at all, this could be because the passenger door lock has hardly ever been used, therfore may be sticking due to lack of use ? ! I eventually managed to fiddle about with the key in the drivers door and managed to get the car unlocked, when I got home, I WD 40'd the visable mechanism of both locks, and locked & unlocked both doors a few times, and all seemed well, BUT :o this morning, it unlocked no probs, but when I got to my usual parking place near my work, I locked it - no probs, thought I'd try unlocking, but it is sticking again !! Why is this ? is it due to lubricant / locks needing cleaned, wear & tear, or could it be the keys ? (I have two keys, and same problem with both) or something else ? !
  12. Hi, new here :D only just found this site this morning, hopefully get time in a wee while to have a good look around. Here is my daily at the mo, I've only had it for just over 3 months, was a 1 owner car with only 87,000 miles, full history, also has full leather, obc.
