  1. Hi Mick....welcome to the Forum I agree with Greydog....there are so many factors that affect mpg but I would certainly start with ensuring the car is serviced properly as that will make a huge difference. Cheers, Trevor
  2. I suppose at least you had the interior blind across so that the glass fragments didn't go all over the interior. I believe Lexus have this problem as well but I have only heard of that in the US. Keep us updated with progress Robert
  3. Hi Andy...welcome to the Forum...and welcome back to BMW The unit could have gone faulty I suppose but it is just a bypass mechanism but should have some electronics in it (resistor/diode) For what they cost, I would be tempted to put another one in as this has clearly been a problem in the past for someone. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor
  4. You could try dropping the rear seats to see if they are rubbing against the panels
  5. Hi Andrew....welcome to the Forum Fine looking car ! Cheers Trevor
  6. Agreed, I do think MIchelin seem to come out on top all round
  7. Just make sure you don't turn the steering wheel at all whilst it is all disconnected as there is an SRS rotary coupling which can be damaged if turned beyond its limits, otherwise, its just nuts and bolts. Good luck
  8. Hi Michael...welcome to the Forum The only thing I can really find on the FPR is the following information and replacement filter assembly from somewhere in the States. We recommend preventative replacement of the fuel filter at 60-80,000 mile intervals. Replacing your fuel filter with this Genuine BMW fuel filter with built in fuel pressure regulator will help prevent the filter from becoming clogged. A clogged fuel filter can result in a variety of problems including stalling, cold start problems, and reduced performance. https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-19439-fuel-filter-with-pressure-regulator-e85-z4-e89-z4/ Have never removed/refitted one before but assume it is in the fuel tank and requires obvious H&S and common sense with flammable fumes, etc. Let us know if you find anything else out about the R&R of the filter Cheers Trevor
  9. Hi Jake...welcome to the Forum Great looking car! I always work on the principle of getting the best you can for the money and I think the Eisenmann is worth the high cost Let us know how you get on with this Cheers, Trevor
  10. I'm only guessing here as never done it myself but if the replacement engine is only a larger capacity then it would be done by bore or stroke and as long as you swap over as many ancillaries and components as possible then it should work okay Let us know what you discover Cheers Trevor
  11. Hi James...welcome to the Forum I think Greydog summed it up nicely....Warranty! as long as you have a comprehensive warranty then you should be okay. Good luck with your purchase Cheers Trevor
  12. If you trickle water over the auxiliary drivebelts and see if the noise goes then its just dry belts causing the noise. If it doesn't go, then possible tensioner bearings, etc
  13. Hi David....welcome to the Forum Sounds like the glow plugs need replacing to get it starting properly. You could try a tuning box (DTUK do a good one) Cheers Trevor
  14. Hi Rob....welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard Cheers Trevor
  15. Hi Joe....welcome to the Forum Great choice of car! Got any piccies of the Beemer you can post up? Cheers Trevor
  16. Hi Stephen....welcome to the Forum Ebay is as good as anywhere really...bought some panels for my Z3 from a guy in Chippenham who has about 15 of them that he breaks up...always sells on eBay Cheers Trevor
  17. Hi Phil Sorry, not sure what these wheels are but I wonder if they may be copies of an Alpine wheel as when you look at the centre where the wheel bolts are, there are no markings which you normally expect to see (rim sizes, BS number, etc). Hope you find a suitable replacement.
  18. Will post up some piccies as and when I tackle the mods, Cheers
  19. Hi Gil...welcome to the Forum You can occasionally find an ABS ring of the right dimensions through some suppliers. Here are some for other BMW models although probably quite similar if same diameter and number of teeth, etc http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&selfil=2%2C3%2C1&mvsub=1&_mcatda=true&selvel=BMW~6%20Series~1985~-~-&_nkw=abs ring BMW 6 Series 1985 Cheers Trevor
  20. I've got a year 2000 Z3 2.0 ltr....needs a bit of work on it now...probably just right for modding I would say!
  21. Hi Mohammed...welcome to the Forum The Beemer certainly looks the business! Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  22. Hi...welcome to the Forum Great looking car! Looks the business Cheers, Trevor
  23. lol...played that game....I believe from memory you have to really push it back hard at the same time. Q2 I think this is a programming process rather than a physical unplugging of leads, etc. You should be able to programme it back in by following a sequence (not sure of the sequence though I'm sure someone on here does)
