E46 Beeping :)
Thanks fellas but no I don't have an aftermarket system, I live on a hill and its quite windy, the vehicle is also parked on an incline. I have removed my air freshener from the coat hook point in the rear as I think this was moving sufficiently to trigger the alarm. This morning it did it again as the sun came over the house hit the interior, before opening the car I could see the air freshener moving. Fingers crossed that's what it was. Its not done it since.

New To The Site
So it works ok when cold? That would eliminate the fuel filter or fuel pump, more than likely a vacuum leak at the throttle body, intake manifold or an ancillary hose. Other possible issues would also affect it when cold such as timing chain tensioner or dodgy plugs, blocked injectors. Is the clutch ok not slipping or anything? Compression in all cylinders ok?

E46 Beeping :)
Its happened twice in the last week or so, car is locked and after walking close by to it the vehicle beeps in sequence. Is this alarm related e.g. over sensitive or something else? Its not a standard alarm sound just very loud beeping.

E46 318I Starter Motor Loaction And Fitting
From memory the best access to the starter motor on the M43TU is from under the car once the undershield is removed. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong on this :) The last time I looked at one access was improved by easing the fuel hoses out of the way, it was a long time ago though.

Cheers mate, thought that might be the case as I've used them before on other cars. I just wanted to make sure as this is my first BMW.

Powerflex
I need wishbone bush replacement and have been advised to go down the powerflex route, apparently its a better option long term as the standard ones don't seem to last long and make the car feel skittish on the road. Is this a logical step?

I will probably do any work myself, I have asked them to list issues for my attention after going over the car with a fine tooth comb. Thanks for the replies.

Right then, I'm taking my E46 into BMW for a service this week, I think something rubber/bush has perished on the off side front wishbone, what's the current labour rate at a dealer these days ? Thanks

Hello
Hello, I've recently acquired an E46 330ci, I was tempted to buy myself an M3 but couldn't bear to part with my FRP.
