Turbo Conversion
Nice 1 Daz been on a few other sites and they say the same so looking like its a straight 6 it is. I'm on my 4th bmw now, love them and prefere the old school, well E36 anyway and have a compact. reckon im gona look for a spares/repairs or accident damaged e36 with 2.5cc or 2.8cc, that way i get everything i need, engine, gearbox, loom. Seen a few of these done before as well and know you have to relocate the battery in boot and change radiator for slimline, but does anyone know of any other mods that will need to be done apart from obvious suspesion, brakes etc...

Turbo Conversion
I seen a few turbo conversions done to the straight 6 engines, and seen a lot of kits available for these engine but can anyone tell me if anyone has ever done one on a 4 cylinder engine? Is there any kits available? I know most people will say to out a 325 engine in or something bigger like that, but I like to be different. Any info would be great. My car is an e36 compact with 1.9 8v engine.

Emissions Control Pump
Which valve are you on about to clean?

Emissions Control Pump
Yeah I know what u mean by fooling it I had to do that with a cat sensor on a previous car when I took cat out, what would be the best way to clean it out? Looking at the state of my air filter I imagine that the throttle bodies and inlet are going to be a bit poo up inside would you recommend changing the air flow sensor as well as?

Emissions Control Pump
Yeah I know it will need to be blanked off I've removed a few egr valves before, just wasn't sure if anyone new if the emissions pump did anything else or if it didn't run properly without one

Emissions Control Pump
There's a bmw breakers yard nearby, so I'm sure they would have what I need, just with the car only needing it for a few minutes on start up for emissions I thought it might be ok to remove all together like an egr valve

Emissions Control Pump
Its defiantly faulty as its full of condensation and researched this and its caused by a faulty valve on the manifold, can anyone tell me where i can locate this valve??? and my air filter is black just after a few days, I have the pump unplugged now and have no light on inside the car!

Emissions Control Pump
My emissions control pump has packed up and I'm getting exhaust gasses coming in my air filter and condensation in the pump hence why it has packed up. My question is do I really need it? I know its there to help the exhaust gasses an cat when the car is cold but not many cars have these so can I do away with it?

Compact Struggling To Start
What would be the best way to clean it, would you say stripping it and cleaning it or just getting some carb cleaner spray? And my mate said that with the air filter being so black it might have clogged up maf! Is there a way to clean these or would it be best to replace

Compact Struggling To Start
I have a e36 compact 1999 316i with 1.9 engine and has recently started to struggle to start. I have not long bought the car so decided to give it a service, changed plugs, oil, oil filter and air filter, the air filter was black like it hadn't been serviced or years. But the service has made no difference. When I first bought the car it was fine but now I have to give it some revs to start, not all the time but majority of the time, once started it runs like a dream. Has anyone else had this happen and could give me some advice, thanks

Yeah not looking for racing setup, track days or fast road use, just want to go as low as I can for everyday use. Cheers for the tip on the drop links

Jom Coilovers
I'm looking to put a set of coilovers on my e36 compact and was wondering if JOM coilover will be ok. The reason I am going for these is that they are quite cheep. I'm not looking for performance, I'm looking for the low and slow look I'm running on 18" MV alloys, and was wondering if there is anything else that could need changing if going really low

Snapped Bolt In Head
Hi I had to change the thermostat on my 1998 318 e46 and managed to snap 2 of the bolts that hold it on, I have tried to drill into the centre of the bolts and use a easy out tool to get them out but as luck goes for me I have snapped the drill bits in the bolts. Can anyone give some advise on what to do or try next, as the only way forward I see is to change the head which I don't really want to do
