  1. Nice 1 Daz been on a few other sites and they say the same so looking like its a straight 6 it is. I'm on my 4th bmw now, love them and prefere the old school, well E36 anyway and have a compact. reckon im gona look for a spares/repairs or accident damaged e36 with 2.5cc or 2.8cc, that way i get everything i need, engine, gearbox, loom. Seen a few of these done before as well and know you have to relocate the battery in boot and change radiator for slimline, but does anyone know of any other mods that will need to be done apart from obvious suspesion, brakes etc...
  2. I seen a few turbo conversions done to the straight 6 engines, and seen a lot of kits available for these engine but can anyone tell me if anyone has ever done one on a 4 cylinder engine? Is there any kits available? I know most people will say to out a 325 engine in or something bigger like that, but I like to be different. Any info would be great. My car is an e36 compact with 1.9 8v engine.
  3. Which valve are you on about to clean?
  4. Yeah I know what u mean by fooling it I had to do that with a cat sensor on a previous car when I took cat out, what would be the best way to clean it out? Looking at the state of my air filter I imagine that the throttle bodies and inlet are going to be a bit poo up inside would you recommend changing the air flow sensor as well as?
  5. Yeah I know it will need to be blanked off I've removed a few egr valves before, just wasn't sure if anyone new if the emissions pump did anything else or if it didn't run properly without one
  6. There's a bmw breakers yard nearby, so I'm sure they would have what I need, just with the car only needing it for a few minutes on start up for emissions I thought it might be ok to remove all together like an egr valve
  7. Its defiantly faulty as its full of condensation and researched this and its caused by a faulty valve on the manifold, can anyone tell me where i can locate this valve??? and my air filter is black just after a few days, I have the pump unplugged now and have no light on inside the car!
  8. My emissions control pump has packed up and I'm getting exhaust gasses coming in my air filter and condensation in the pump hence why it has packed up. My question is do I really need it? I know its there to help the exhaust gasses an cat when the car is cold but not many cars have these so can I do away with it?
  9. Yeah good point will do nice one matey
  10. Nice 1 mate will get some carb spray tomorrow and give it a try, might just change the maf to be safe, will post back when cleaning done let you know if its worked or not
  11. What would be the best way to clean it, would you say stripping it and cleaning it or just getting some carb cleaner spray? And my mate said that with the air filter being so black it might have clogged up maf! Is there a way to clean these or would it be best to replace
  12. I have a e36 compact 1999 316i with 1.9 engine and has recently started to struggle to start. I have not long bought the car so decided to give it a service, changed plugs, oil, oil filter and air filter, the air filter was black like it hadn't been serviced or years. But the service has made no difference. When I first bought the car it was fine but now I have to give it some revs to start, not all the time but majority of the time, once started it runs like a dream. Has anyone else had this happen and could give me some advice, thanks
  13. Won't be getting the kit till end of the month but yeah when I get them I will pop down thanks, is cutting them gona pass mot?
