  1. I didnt want to move the heater, its tricky to press in the lower location (I'd imagaine) and very pricey for the part... I've ordered it anyway, if it looks S$*t, I havn't lost too much...
  2. Its an E46 dash, so hopefully it will fit in the void where the sunglasses are, fingers crossed.
  3. Im a coffee/tea drinker and really miss having a cupholder....and after much deliberation over centre console holders and clips on window jobbies I've found this on ebay? My initial plan is to fit it where the sunglasses holder is...has anyone got one of these? The other option would be to relocate the heater controls and fit them under the stereo, albeit the panel is relocation panel is quite pricey is it not?
  4. Wow, whats your plans for the interior?
  5. Scratch that last post, I've got a better deal on a Garmin elsewhere, but... If i was to fit an after market unit with a folding screen, it would obstruct air vents, or AC controls, so I know its possibel to relocate AC controls, howver is there a blanking panel to fill the gap under the 'single Din' head unit? Or can I move the glasses case under there?
  6. In need of a new Sat Nav, and I came across this little device on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-3-series-E46-1998-2006-DVD-based-GPS-Navigation-Radio-with-RDS-SUB-Bluetooth-/110858695023?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item19cfb1716f Has anyone got one...? Are they chinese rubbish, or worth the money?
  7. So the cars back, new rocker gasket, timing chain kit, and oil change - its running sweet. Just one thing, oil service reminder is for 600 miles...can i reset this now, or do I have to wait unti the countdown expires?
  8. So, had the car looked at today...oil leak turned out to be a leaky rocker cover gasket, but, when it was being replaced, they noticed the timing chain guide had snapped. So, new timing chain too...
  9. Its booked in friday to have a look at the oil leak/burning issues...hopefully it'll be something simple like a gasket, or loose bolt.
  10. So the coolant system is sorted, new coolant/antifreeze and bled = no noise! (Fluid level was a bit low...) Just as well, as its going to be -7 degrees here tonight! (19° Fahrenheit)
  11. So bleeding the system should combat the nioise? I think getting to the CCV is a big job though, isnt it well hidden in the engine bay? So cleaning it, to replace it 500 miles later might be a task...!
  12. Right , so Ive searche through a lot fo threds and got a few, very vaired opinions about a few niggles with my car... Its a 2003, 318 compact ti se, 2.0. 75k Now and then, when the radio is off, i can hear a noise from behind where the glove box is, (when im driving) which sounds like water swishing around? From what I can find, it seems to be most likely air in the cooling system...so im going to bleed this tomorrow and hopefully that will solve it. Anyone go any other suggestion? Also, ive been buring oil, like a lot of cars seem to, or at least the oi light is coming on around every 500 miles or so (and ive been topping up with 1 litre of oil). I think the cause of this is a worn CCV? housing/valve which will be getting sorted when i find a garage willing to replace it...Other than that the car runs fine, no smoke, no visible leaks or noise...
  13. Hi mate, im just after some interior plastic trim for the dash, what colour is it?
  14. This something I'd like, but I often worry about extra petrol, excess engine wear etc... Something I need to read up on I think!
  15. Thanks for the help, a photo and an intro is done! So for the time being ive got nothing to worry about!
