Hi mate welcome, I'm only 19 and iv got 1.9 petrol and insurance I pay about 1200 a year which isn't that bad for someone my age with a bmw :) I paid 3800 quid for myn its got 86k on the clock and is in mint condion, to run my bm its not to bad depending on how heavy your foot is lol and with the money your on you should be able to run one easy as I can and I'm a new manager at BnQ :) good luck mate need anymore advice give me a shout and like wise to what gav said.. Stick around its useful knowing these older wiser guys :)

  3. Down in wiltshire we got hit hard wednesday night but I must say drifting it to and from work is pretty fun just gunna try not to get to carried away with the drifting lol done that once and ended up putting my first car on its roof... Oopss lol

    Ill have to say that's a close call lol at lest someone was honest and let you know, yes I have heard of the cold messing with the circuit boards but never heard of it letting down all four windows lol

    Yeh I will do iv got a hanyes book so ill look thought that me thinks, yeh iv lowered it 40m at the front and it looks like a drag racing car atm can't wait to get back done gunna wait till the weekend now ;)

  8. hey all iv bought lowering kit for my 318 40mm front and back iv lowered the front no probs at all but i moved to the rear and the set up looks hard and dunno where to start as i dont wanna do no damage lol anyone that can give me advice will be helpfully :) thanks

  13. I solved the problem it was because I had the RCA wire running off one of the back speakers which I was already using for the line output converter, all running sweet and sounds great ill write a step by step guide and will put pics up :)
  14. hi all, today i finally installed my sub and amp and im running it off my standard headunit, iv got just one problem tho.... whenever i change the volume the amp just cuts out then comes back one 30 seconds later :s if i keep it at a steady volume it sounds sweet and doesnt cut out. iv checked all the connections and ever re wired it again so there is no issues there iv just ran out of ideas now this has really stumped me.

  19. i just painted mine matt black on sunday and looks wicked, to prep the chrome you have to get it right first time if you wanna save time and not make a mess of things. what i did was used a sandpaper sponge pad and gave it a good sand down then make sure you use plastic primer on this type of plastic as it is very very smooth plastic, and give it at lest 2 good coats of primer and leave it to dry then 2-3 good coats of matt black. i will post a pic of mine tomorrow.

  21. got the bmw back!! cost 400 quid tho :( but it is such a nicer ride and your right greeny smoother going though the rev range
  22. yes i agree before my beemer i had an escort gti and i replaced a wheel bearing on that and thought i did it all ok as i followed the Haynes manual but 20 miles later it was f***ed again so i took it to a garage and they charged 57 quid. ended up worse off lol :(

  24. hi guys just to let you lot know im getting my tappets replaced tomorrow and im so excited can`t wait to get them done as my bmw sounds like a 1.3 ford fiesta at the mo lol. quick question will my beemer be any quicker once done? Luke

    yeh iv had experience lowering cars before about 3 cars in total but i was looking at the setup and the rear suspension is a bit diffenet to any other car i have done but im feeling confident i can do it :) and yeh ill post pics as im going for anyone else wanting help with it. should be getting the springs Tuesday :)
