  1. Indeed I believe that all the 6 cylinder models are cam chains, unsure about the below 2 litre four cylinder engines
  2. ok cheers thats what i thought, thanks alot
  3. Hello again. I finally finished switching the leather interior two days ago and after a while of driving the air bag light came on?? when I checked underneath there was a little wire under the passenger seat that I forgot to plug in (passenger occupancy sensor I think) plugged it back in and light didn't go off. will it do it automatically?? or do I need it switched of by a garage/dealership?? many thanks and sorry to keep bothering you lol. Cheers Dave
  4. Ok so it doesn't have to be a dedicated place then. if i can find one i'l hook it on if not i'l go for the seat bolts.
  5. Hello all, ready to lay the wire in for my electric seats and found out where to run the power form the fuse board, I just need to know the best place to earth the seats???? does anyone know the closest earthing point??? or could i just make my own earth. cheers
  6. I'm 8 miles north of Cambridge. I've figure out that I have a dodgy relay on the circuit board on the seat controls, you can hear it struggle. Is it easy to change a relay that's attached to a circuit board?? Maybe there is a company that can put a new relay on for me. There is three next to each other and when I shake the board you can hear one rattle but as they are small and next to each other I can't figure out which one it is. Tempted to go and see a computer circuit board repair company with a new relay and just explain the issue. Surly just a case of some fiddly soldering. I'm sure I can sort it ????????????
  7. I've figured out which wires to use using a 12v supply in my house I got the seats to move ok so if there no wiring I know where to run the the wires. Only prob is the drivers side seems to have a loose connection inside the control box. it seems to work for a second then stop and you can hear something struggling but does work slowly. I'l take it apart and see what I can see. hopefully some thing simple?? unlucky its the side with the memory settings on it so maybe not that simple. the passenger side works perfectly.. nothings ever easy lol.
  8. reading through all sorts of threads on all sorts of forums is !Removed! my head up!! lots of people coming out with different points of view. think I'l just go for it. the only thing in common is that I should dis attach the battery when connecting and disconnecting or I could have issue with the air bag sensors and seat belt pre tensioners . It'l look good when done.. I will keep a log and post it on here.
  9. Hello again all, Not having my 320ci se long I decided when buying one I wanted full leather. I couldn't find a good one. I found a nice car for a good price with cloth interior and got a Great leather interior from ebay. The problem is the new interior has electric memory seats and the standard ones has manual heave ho seats???? is this going to be hard to make these work?? they have the same connection on the bottom for the heated seats but I'm sure these will not work without some sort of tampering. Has anyone had an issue like this. Just want to know before I start the job. Any help would be great. thanks everyone... dave
  10. Indeed i dont think they'd be interested. so its prob not worth it and i'l try to fix it myself... wish me luck.
  11. It's only an AA warranty that the garage I brought it from, not sure that BMW garage would accept this??
  12. It was a garage not BMW but it might be worth a shot.
  13. I could try that but my engine management light is on and its booked in for diagnostics early tomorrow so wouldn't want the light to go off before the warranty runs out. I'l try all these things lunch time tomorrow. cheers for your help I forgot to add. I just cant see how the wire between the two ends could be faulty?? it has to be a connection fault at either end. I've read through the manual and seems like if the head unit picks up the changer then there will be an option for it. And I don't have to program it in.
  14. Cambridge, need to find someone local with the same changer then. It has power because the magazine ejects and I take it it gets the power from the head unit?? but I'm unsure of that. maybe just a faulty changer??
