2011 318I Touring - Hard Work
I think I get you. I own a 320d e46 tourer 2003 model BMWs tend to be heavy steering and heavy clutch. I cant comment on your gear ratios as they will be a little different to mine, but it took me a few months to get used to my very first BMW (320d saloon E46). At first it did feel like I was lugging it about on my back, but I have grown to like it now and I just hate driving any other car. I had a A3 not so long back, 1.8T Quattro (Not muck unlike your GTI), and that just felt very loose and horrible to drive. Its something you will get used too and begin to love.

Rear Suspension
Yeah different set up to the fronts. Also while your there check the condition of shocks, as BMW standards are pretty weak
-
Rear Suspension
Jack it up mate. Take wheel off and check for cracked spring. Best way to do it is unbolt the shock from the bottom bolt and take spring out.

Rear Suspension
Odd, as I ran the exact same wheels on my coupe and tourer, both were lowered and got no problems. Looking from the rear of your car, do the wheels look at different camber? None of the arch lining is loose?

Help!!! With Audio
Right, I put in HK speakers, not really getting the quality I want. Managed to get my hands on 2 1000w amps, 1 2 channel and 1 4..and 2 6x9 infinity speakers so gonna rip everything out and start again. Could someone please explain how, what a which crossovers I need? Not got a clue what ones to get. The 6x9s will be run from the 2 channel amp the door speakers from the 4 channel. So am I iChat in thinking I only need crossovers for the tweeters?
