  1. yes its a good idea but surely it is just encouraging lazy driving? if they know they wont crash then people wont pay attention to whats going on around them. theres enough drivers out there that dont know they are driving in the middle lane or they've had their for lights on for the last 6 WEEKS so we certainly dont need anymore! if it only cuts in in extreme circumstances then i guess its a good idea though
  2. at the moment i'm looking about the 3k mark. a little bit more but not much as my missus has decided we need a new bathroom aswell! if i can raise any more cash before chrimbo then the budget will go up but with 2 lil kids its going to be a challenge  i'd love a 525d sport as i love the way they drive- plus with the remap they achieve silly amounts of torque! :D as for distance, southern england would be a big bonus but i'm not too fussed to travel tbh. cheers for your help mate
  3. thats what i was thinking to be honest mate. i'll be paying cash too as i've always found a fistful of readies tends to persuade people better then a cheque or bank transfer! i am finding it difficult to find a 525 sport for the right money tho. a 530 would be fine but even with 160k on the clock they are going for stupid amounts these days. they did come down in price for a while but have shot up again which is a pain in the backside to say the least!!!
  4. i just wanna buy my bmw! i've already booked the remap and i dont even have the car yet! i'm debating whether to buy before chrimbo as people might be more desperate for the cash or after because then the sales might be on????? as long as i get the car i want then the only thing i'll be doing is the remap and i tasty ice install. tv's going in, a sub or two and that should do it me thinks. all the above and a bucket load of polishing and waxing too.....
  5. sounds a good price from what i've heard if its a good job. have a look at previous work if you can tho mate- its easy to do cr*p job. good luck with it
  6. oooops! my plates have always been legal, i've never ever sped in my life and i am a church going citizen!!!! the letters and numbers were always the right size and spacings- havent got a choice really as they come from my dads work- but i just trimmed the edges a bit so they werent as long, thats all. its only to make them look a bit different- not trying to fool anyone or decieve in any way- too old for that these days. i always had them on the left of the smoothed bumpers too- like the mitsy evos etc- only mine were done before they stole my idea! lol
  7. thankyou all for your kindness! i'm waiting for some money to appear shortly then i'll be on the hunt straight away. seen a few already and 2 have been perfect and as the money is nearly with me i hope one will still be available. if not i know alot of traders through me dad so finding a good one shouldnt be too hard i hope! cheers again guys
  8. personally think it depends on a) the copper and what mood he/she is in and b ) how you act towards them. if you get out of the car effing and jeffing then they will do you for everything they can. I had severely cut down plates on my last few cars and got pulled by the same guy a few times and all he said was : "aint bothered changing them yet then!". when he was in a bad mood once he said he'd fine but never did. I am a firm believer that if you are courteous to them they just give you a b****cking and let you alone. I was also told that that the letters and numbers have to be the standard size and the border around it has to be 10mm. when I can afford it (if ever!) i want the numberplate CUN7 L- i wont care about the spacings either! ;)
