Hi all, I bought a 2020 G31 a month ago and I’d like to replace at least the driver’s floor mat or all of them. I do like the OEM ones but don’t want to pay full price from BMW for replacements. What other options has anyone used? I do like how they have the Velcro patches on the reverse so ideally any alternatives would have the same. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I’ve purchased 3rd party mats for other vehicles in the past and have always been disappointed. Thanks again.

Hi Stu, thanks for your reply. I am pretty clueless with body work repair as not attempted before. So your process is to use the McGuires compound X, which you apply with an electric polisher/buffer then finish with the appropriate colour Turtle Wax? So just a 2 step process (apart from cleaning the area and then waxing afterwards)? Thanks again

Hi all, I purchased this 2020 G31 a few weeks ago. It has some light exterior scratches on both some of the metal and plastic. I haven’t attempted to polish any out before but am thinking of having a go. What products would you recommend for both surfaces and are there any good YouTube videos that you’d recommend? Thanks again for your advice Dave. Oil and filter change all sorted now. Did the air filter too. Next job, repairing light scratches, will search the forum for some advice there now too 👍

Thanks @Greydog, I really appreciate your advice and all the detail! Where do you get the copper crush washers from? Also, I’ll be purchasing the required tools as don’t have anything suitable (only worked on bicycles previously!) Would you recommend any particular online retailer for tools. I imagine I’ll be purchasing a fair few in the coming months as want to be able to do other servicing jobs including replacing brake discs and pads. With regards to the oil, as you know you can get 5L and 1L bottles, can I get 2 x 5L and then keep the remainder for the next oil change, or does it not keep? Thanks again!

Hi, I have recently bought a 2020 520d Touring G31 and I want to do an oil and filter change. I have not this on a car before, I know it’s pretty simple, but just wondered if there were any YouTube sources that you’d recommend please? Also which is the best oil to use? I want to save some money on labour and start to do some jobs myself but want to select the best products. I have had a bit of a look online but not sure if the sources I have found are recommended within the community. Thanks in advance for any pointers 🙂

Hi all, I have just purchased my first BMW, a 2020 520d Touring M-Sport. I have spotted a few bits that need replacing: - Door seal at bottom of drivers door - Plastic cover for the vent just behind offside front wheel - Lower part of one of the wing mirror cases - The interior plastic covers on either side of the rear window (on the main body of the car, not the tailgate itself). What sites would you recommend for me to try and find secondhand spares please? Obviously for the wing mirror case I might need to order that from BMW as might not be as easy to get the right colour second hand. Any input greatly welcomed, Thanks James.
