    there may well be a link, my theory was just a shot in the dark, someone should be along tonight or tomorow to give you some advise on the issue. :D

    heat off the brakes affecting handbrake shoes???? (just a thought as know nothing about the E87) cause if your driving sensibly and using brake lightly not alot of heat is generated, where as if driving it with a bit more speed, more heat is generated on braking (metal expands when heated and shrinks back to normal when cooled) this could cause a bit of friction when applying handbrake when hot but feel normal when cool just a thought???? could be totaly wrong so wait to see what the others say .sam.

    i had an e30 bmw before and i put my show plates on it and literally 2 mins after doing it an undercover copper stopped me fined me and told me to change them the only reason i put them on was to drive to get my new proper ones as they where broke! lol never mind shall get them done soon. :D

    i got a 328 e36 and cant get insurance without paying through the nose so got me missus to insure it as she has 6 yrs no claims and it cheap as chips now! just dont work out ???? we are with swift cover and they aint bad on prices
