  1. Hi Dave, I don't like the sound of that. Firstly I don't know the first thing about checking fuel rail pressure, and the injectors have never been checked while I have had it. I got it at 89000 miles and its now at around 144,000. I can get the car to go as quick as I want without a miss as long as I don't want any severe acceleration. I would also be nervous about removing injectors as I have heard many horror stories about them breaking. The vacuum lines were renewed last year. It would appear the fuel sensor would be the only thing would want to try myself before i have to surrender it to a Bmw expert. thanks Paneuro.
  2. Hi, i have an E61 2008 530 d m sport and when I give it the beans it starts misfiring unless I back the foot of. If I drive it normally it settles down. I have noticed it behaves like this when I come off a roundabout i particular. any ideas guys. thanks Paneuro.
  3. I have a 2008 530D E61 and have a metallic rattle whenever the engine starts, it only does it once when the engine starts. I have had my son start and stop the car several times and it sounds like it is coming from the front of the engine. I have recently replaced the serpentine belt as it failed and ended up in shreds and I had to cut it off. I'm wondering if it could be something to do with the idler pulley. Has anybody had a problem like this before. thanks Paneuro.
  4. hi Dave, I had a look there and if its there I couldn't find it, the only other place it seems to suggest is to do with the BC button on the indicator lever but I have tried that as well and no joy, it may be that there is some sort of procedure which has to be followed in the right order but until now I am at a loss. cheers Paneuro.
  5. Hi Dave, I thought you would dive into that one. I have found a reference to it in the book and it would appear its connected via the computer on the I drive but so far I have not been able to give it the kiss off life. i can follow the instructions so far and then nothing. I will keep trying and if your interested the first reference is on page 85 of my handbook . thanks Paneuro.
  6. I have recently had a new clutch fitted and notice that it has stopped displaying on the dash which gear I'm in, or should I say when I should be changing up or down the gearbox. It doesn't bother me greatly but it was working prior to having the new clutch fitted. I have searched the handbook but so far I can't find any reference to this. Can anybody throw any light on this? regards Paneuro.
  7. Hi Dave, I had a problem today when I lost power steering and my battery light came on. I assumed the belt had gone but the car was still mobile. I'm looking for advice on what belt to replace it with, Gates or BMW ? cheers Paneuro.
  8. Hi Dave, not had a great January so far health wise including a week in hospital but back on the mend hopefully now. I'm trying to catch up on a few repairs due to the heavy storms sot got anything done about Ista/inpa but will keep you posted when i get moving. cheers Paneuro
  9. Thanks Dave, I will have to find somebody to download and install it for me as its a bit beyond my capabilities. I will keep ypu posted on the progress. Happy new year Paneuro.
  10. Hi Dave, are there any of these programs you mentioned free? I noticed Foxwell scanners for sale and there did not seem to be any need for a laptop to run them, they seem to be all in one. The reason I ask is I bought the original Carly tool a few years ago when they said all you pay is a one of fee and that was it, all further updates were free and no yearly subscription. They guaranteed this, then they brought out a new model with a yearly subscription and the one I had wouldn't work. I argued that was not the agreement but all they did was send me the new tool and ask for around £90.00 per year. I don't mind paying a one of fee but I get annoyed when they don't stand by there word. sorry for the rant. Paneuro.
  11. Hi Dave, I will get the alignment checked at the tyre shop that supplied the new rear tyres. He has all the Hunter alignment ramp and tools and he said he would check it FOC for me. Can you tell me what IOS program I need to get as I would like to instruct my son in law to put it on a spare laptop he has . thanks Paneuro
  12. Hi Dave, through its MOT and all lights fixed. couple of advisories like lower rear arm bushes showing a little rubber bush degradation but not resulting in excessive movement. All in all not a bad result. I will have a look at the bushes and if its not the end of the world replace them as the nearside tyre was showing wear on the inside when I replaced them last week. cheers Paneuro.
  13. Hi Dave, I have now discovered that these brake pad warnings on the I drive screen are not only governed by the wear sensors but the service intervals i.e. time so as far as I know I can't just do a reset myself. I may have to go to the dealer. Anyway its going for an MOT so he might be able to do it for me. cheers Paneuro.
  14. Thanks Dave, I'll keep you posted Paneuro.
  15. Hi Dave, I do have a BMW specialist local to me but the last time I phoned the girl asked me if the car had ever been in to them before and when I said no she said they would have no interest in looking at it. I think I would rather stick a box of paper hankies against the I drive screen. The only problem I have is its due an MOT just after Christmas. I will just have to keep putting out feelers and see if anyone can do it. By the way I'm in grey Burns country. cheers Paneuro.
