They rarely are. I used to work for Albion automotive. The make parts for daf, french poo. The made brake drums. Some went to daf and were put in daf boxes and some went to part co and put in their boxes. Did at the same time on the same machine by the same guy on the same shift.

He said. "There is a bit of movement in these prices. So if you find them cheaper lets us know". I said. Ok. Who makes them? "Oh no no no these are genuine bmw parts".

Yeah it's a k&n replacement part mate not a cone. I'm not interested in the cone style induction kits. Thanks. Andy

Bad a look about picked up pollen, oil & fuel filters. Still looking for air though. I was thinking of getting the k&n however read on a few random good search forums that the oil on the filter can cause problems with the MAF sensor. Also it sounds terrible. Can anyone advise? Anyway I was looking about and trying to figure out which filter to get. I know its just a bit of cotton/paper. Euro car parts recommends the crosland filter as do CP4L. What price am I looking at for a genuine BM part?
  12. Well yeah it said very little so i did ask as per the request in the ad. I dont see me getting far with it. We shall see. Andy
  13. Item number: 251302601256 You might be able to view it.
  14. It was an eBay special dabs. The ad simply said any questions ask. I did, he told lies. I have contacted him and I'm waiting for a reply. Ill give it a few days and complain. Thanks for the reply and advice mate. Andy :)
  15. e-mail with photos sent. I did say i was happy that the paint work was ok but wasnt happy that the tabs are broken and wasnt sure that it would sit right on the car as a result I offered him the chance to swap it for another one if he has it. Andy
  16. I shall, Ill post on here too. There is a little damage near the light housings however i wont go nuts about that as its easily fixable with a touch up and polish and is small and reasonably inconspicuous. It was probably the courier mishandling it. Andy
  17. Just the resin? Really? I thought the araldite stuff was pretty good. lol Andy
  18. yeah like i say i have not got back to the guy yet asking for a little advice on it. If you think its best to return it then i think thats the way to go. Im not overly happy about the tabs being broken after all thats what holds it to the car.
  19. Had a proper look at the paintwork apart from the crack it seems pretty good for a salvaged part. Probably better than mine lol. Mine has been dinged 3 times though. My only real concern is the tabs can anyone advise if this will be ok or if the can be repaired with a bit of araldite etc. Appreciated Thanks Andy
  20. Bumpers here. i specifically asked the guy is there any damage. He said "No its ready to bolt on" I expect wee nicks and light scratches etc. There is a small scratch which im not too bothered about. BUT. Althogh the general condition is OK there seems to be a crack in the paintalong the top of the bumper. the wee shelf where the boot lid will meet the bumper. Im unsure if that could develop into something worse. The other big but is that on the drivers side there is one of the mounting tabs broken and one pretty much almost broken through. The passenger side has 3 broken and one distorted pretty badly. Am i just being petty or should i send it back to him? Thanks Andy

Jack. My new best friend ;)
  22. I have seen the shape of them it is designed in such a way that prying requires you to guess when the tabs are clear of the plastic hooks. The tab attached to the car are curling up & away from you. A 6" steel rule would be thin enough to pry but I can't imagine being strong enough. Thanks Andy
  23. Anyone? Thanks Andy

Hi, I will be looking for some replacement parts soon. The cars 94k old now so needs some brake pads & discs and will be needing shockies soon. I am also going to change the air & Pollen filters. I was thinking a K&N replacement filter as its lots less expensive than the BMW part and lasts a whole lot longer and is apparently better. Anyway where do you lots do your shopping for bits? Thanks Andy
