Speed Camera Detectors
Speed camera alerts on the Sat Nav is the way to go. If you have BMW fitted sat nav you could run a Tom Tom App on your phone as well. But like Grey Dog said who speeds? Upt'North.

Bmw 116i 06 plate rusted underneath
That rust looks ugly. Take it to a good Mot testing station and see what they find. If for nothing else piece of mind. If bought from a garage register your feelings ASAP. If you're going to reject it do it now. If bought privately then get any work required ASAP. As the vehicle been used near to the coast or predominantly rural areas? Upt'North.

New Diesel Models RECALL (UK)
My X1 a 2014 18D started to feel a little strange on pick up and the EGR valve was changed under the extended warranty this Spring, 2019. At that time they informed me that the X1 was not part of the global recall. Upt'North.

bmw 1 series 116 i 2012 oil loss, coolant loss and engine splutter when cold
I've just read the PCV valve, breather valve should be part of regular maintenance. Don't know if this is specific to the 116i. Speak to a franchise or independent specialist for cost of replacement. It doesn't sound to onerous if indeed it is relevant. Upt'North.

bmw 1 series 116 i 2012 oil loss, coolant loss and engine splutter when cold
Adam, how many miles are on the 116i. Is it a vehicle that has been subject to the BMW long servicing regime? The oil is going somewhere. Have you got a miles per litre usage you can give us. The good news is if there is no smoke then it won't hurt at MOT time with regards visible smoke but may hurt on emissions of course. Have you checked the emissions for HC etc, this could give a good indication of where the oil is going and if the vehicle would pass the MOT when the time comes. How does this engine breath, is the breather blocked. I'm guessing someone on here knows about the breather. Good luck. Upt'North.
- Why would somebody remove this??

condition
It could be your right foot or maybe this is just what you can expect. Some BMW fuel additive can't hurt, cheap enough on ebay and from my own experience my X1 did feel smoother after. Upt'North.

condition
If you're thinking it's low, then when was it last serviced. Have you put any BMW fuel system cleaner through recently. What fuel do you buy, supermarket/branded etc. Are your tyre pressures correct. Do you use air con a lot. Upt'North.
- Water in passenger foot well?

big ally
Have you contacted Continental to see if it could just be a bad batch of tyres. They may help with some goodwill for the replacements. Tyre companies are usually pretty good. Upt'North.

Water in passenger foot well?
Don't know.......but I suspect you've got blocked drain channels under the bonnet. At the rear corner on both sides there are water drain holes covered in a plastic grate. These get blocked very easily and water can then access the interior. I'd check these out first it's a two minute job. Hope it helps. Upt'North.

2010 BMW 650i Transmission Failure - DBC
With the age of the car I would try to track down an independent specialist. The codes don't tell you much so will need interrogating. As an example a friend just had issues with an ageing Citroen whose dash was lit up like the proverbial, warning lights everywhere. The cause.........a loose oil filler cap. Upt'North.

Different manufacturers on front from rear?
Scott, it certainly wouldn't have left the factory on different make tyres. Those curbed wheels won't be cheap to repair either. You will be spending a lot of money here, if you don't think it's right walk away. Where are you thinking of buying it from it doesn't like a franchise car. There are lots for sale so take your time. Act in haste repent in leisure. Upt'North.

bmw 1 series 116 i 2012 oil loss, coolant loss and engine splutter when cold
If there's no external leak then it's got to be going into the cylinders, hasn't it? 1 litre a week sounds horrendous, like post above how many miles per litre. If the coolant leak has now stopped then the compression test is the way to go as the black smoke will mean an Mot failure, I think? Upt'North.

Howdy
Thanks Greydog. I'm pretty competent with vehicles or was before DPF/ABS/TCS days. Whilst the car is under the extended warranty, I think £500.00 pa roughly, I'm happy with it but £500.00 ain't cheap. But the EGR and Washer repair has probably just cost the equivalent of two years premiums. EGR valve, front washer motor and in total about 5 hours labour and diagnosis would not be cheap at the franchise. It's covered until 04 2020 so time to think. Although thinking does hurt. Upt'North.
