  1. Leave the window in the closed position . Otherwise it will be in the way
  2. What ever you do don't disconnect the airbag unless you disconnect the battery first otherwise airbag light will come on and you will need to have it reset before mot. I usually let it dangle but you can support it with string
  3. I don't know if the 56 plate is the same as my 55. But the panel is held on by 4 screws. 3 at the top one at the lower pocket. If you remove the screws the top will then pull of the door as you do not need to lift up as on other cars. This should allow you to put your arm in and activate the lock. If the linkage has broke. Unusual for both means of opening to break. Is the seat belt jammed in the door that's usually what happens .
  4. The dvd player is for the sat navigation disc. I have a multi changer directly under neath that which plays the music cd. The dvd players in the head rests have there own dvd readers hope this helps

  8. When I disconnected my battery the other day my 4x4 light stayed on. Had to drive about a mile before it went off.
  9. If its an old battery I would replace. I have to charge mine on a regular basis ever since I had the tracker fitted. If you do charge it use the connections under the bonnet not direct on the battery. Glad hour all sorted
  10. X5 are prone to all sort of error messages at times. Sometimes switching off and back on cures , if you have a flat battery thus will cause lots of problems on an x5. If battery is ok try disconnecting the negative side of battery for 20 min. If that don't work disconnect the battery totally for 20 min the draw back with this is you will need yto reset everything once you reconnect the battery.
  11. Yes took bulb out of left side which is working. But still no joy
